Main Ingredients and Functions:

NON-GMO Soybean Protein  – Soybean protein is a « complete protein » since it provides essential and non-essential amino acids for human nutrition. Essential amino acids (EAA) that are not produced in the body must be obtained through our diet. Our bodies can easily absorb soybean protein, which can be used effectively to build strength and lean muscle mass. Soy protein helps the body generate quality energy and helps reduce fatigue. It can burn fat in glycogen-depleted participants, particularly for those who are vegetarians or lactose intolerant.

Protein deficiency affects our vital organs, including the brain and the immune system. Therefore, a protein deficiency elevates the risk of infection. The physical signs of protein deficiency include edema, failure to thrive in infants and children, poor musculature, dull skin, as well as thin and fragile hair.

Soy is low in saturated fats and has no cholesterol. The consumption of soy products has been associated with improved cardiovascular health. Specifically, it has been found that diets high in soy products are associated with lower blood pressure, decreased triglyceride and cholesterol levels, and a lower incidence of diabetes.

Soybean protein is also high in

  • Arginine (Amino Acid) helps ward off both mental and physical fatigue. It also helps to facilitate muscle growth by promoting both growth and insulin in the body during intense exercises such as bodybuilding. It may lower LDL cholesterol levels in the bloodstream and increase lipid (fat) metabolism. Due to its ability to produce nitric oxide, it increases blood flow, thus delivering more nutrients to the muscles and promoting growth.
  • Glutamine (Amino Acid) – Our bodies use glutamine to transport nitrogen to tissues. It increases muscle cell volume through cellular hydration. Glutamine also increases growth hormone levels, which leads to the muscle using fatty acids for fuel rather than blood sugar.

Arginine and Glutamine are non-essential amino acids. Our bodies must have the right combination of non-essential and essential amino acids in sufficient quantities in order to aid development. If one of the non-essential amino acids is lower than the needed amount for an individual, then the utilization of other amino acids will be hindered and thus protein synthesis will be lower than normal.

Pea Protein  – Pea protein is plant-based and lactose-free. It’s isolated from legumes, most types of pea protein are free from all of the most common allergens. People with allergies or intolerances to gluten and dairy may find that pea protein powder is easier to digest. Pea and whey protein powders are both rich sources of protein.  Whey protein is isolated from cow’s milk, so it’s animal-based. Both contains all nine essential amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Nine of the amino acids that the body needs are called essential. This means the body cannot produce them on its own, and instead you must consume them in your diet.

Pea and whey protein powders are also both relatively low in carbs, fat and sugar. Whey protein contains more cholesterol, calcium, and potassium. Pea protein has more fiber and iron.

Vitamin E  – Natural vitamin E is a key nutrient for heart health, immune support, nerve, and muscle function. As an antioxidant with a powerful punch, vitamin E is an essential ally against pollution, aging, toxins, and other causes of free radical damage.

In everyday life, our bodies generate free radicals. Normally, the body can handle free radicals, but if antioxidants are unavailable, or if the free-radical production becomes excessive, cellular damage can occur. Particularly, this occurs in tissues that contain high levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as the brain and central nervous system. As an antioxidant, vitamin E may help protect against cardiovascular conditions and cataracts. It also protects other vitamins (such as vitamins A and C) from oxidation.

Vitamin B12  – Vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin is the biologically active form of vitamin B12, the form most readily absorbed into the body. It is water-soluble and necessary for various bodily processes, including energy production, nervous system function, and production of genetic materials DNA and RNA

This vitamin is required for energy production and the nervous system function as it’s used to produce myelin, a fatty sheath that surrounds and protects nerves. In a recent study, subjects taking methylcobalamin experience improved sleep quality, along with increased daytime alertness and concentration. Much of the benefit appears to be a result of methylcobalamin influence on melatonin secretion and resetting the biological clock. Specifically, methylcobalamin causes a significant decrease in daytime melatonin levels while increasing nighttime levels.

Benefits of Taking Vitamin B12

  • Supports the nervous system
  • Helps memory and learning
  • Boosts energy
  • Helps control homocysteine levels
  • Promotes a healthy cardiovascular system
  • Enhances immune system function
  • Effectively supports brain and nerve function.

Vitamin C  – Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant crucial to the growth and repair of tissues, making skin, tendons, and blood vessels, helping wounds heal faster, keeping bones and teeth healthy; with increasingly diverse uses in health promotion.

Vitamin C Helps

  • Lowering the risk of atherosclerosis, reducing the chance of blood vessel changes that can lead to strokes and other vascular catastrophes.
  • Protect from cellular DNA damage and also decrease the inflammatory changes that may lead to abnormal cells growth.
  • Dramatically combat the oxidative damage caused by smoking and exposure to tobacco smoke.
  • In respiratory conditions, vitamin C supplements help avert or improve the duration of common colds and may mitigate the risk of serious respiratory conditions.
  • Speeds up the elimination of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori that causes stomach problems, and reduces the risk of gastric cell mutation caused by this.
  • In recent studies, Vitamin C has taken the lead as one of the most important treatments against skin aging and darkening.

Zinc  – Zinc is crucial for good health and development. Zinc is involved in numerous aspects of cellular metabolism. It is required for the catalytic activity of approximately 100 enzymes and it plays a role in immune function protein synthesis wound healing DNA synthesis and cell division. Zinc also supports normal growth and development during pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence and is required for a proper sense of taste and smell. Zinc also helps maintain the integrity of skin and mucosal membranes. A daily intake of zinc is required to maintain a steady-state because the body has no specialized zinc storage system.

Zinc deficiency is characterized by growth retardation, loss of appetite, and impaired immune function. In more severe cases, zinc deficiency causes hair loss, diarrhea, delayed sexual maturation, impotence, hypogonadism in males, and eye and skin lesions, weight loss, delayed healing of wounds, taste abnormalities, and mental lethargy. Many of these symptoms are non-specific and often associated with other health conditions. Therefore, a medical examination is necessary to ascertain whether a zinc deficiency is present. Children who don’t get enough zinc risk having stunted growth.

Why We Need Zinc

  • Immune function – Severe zinc deficiency depresses immune function, and even mild to moderate degrees of zinc deficiency can impair macrophage and neutrophil functions, natural killer cell activity, and complement activity. The body requires zinc to develop and activate T-lymphocytes. Individuals with low zinc levels have shown reduced lymphocyte proliferation response to mitogens and other adverse alterations in immunity that can be corrected by zinc supplementation
  • To Vegetarians -The bioavailability of zinc from vegetarian diets is lower than from non-vegetarian diets because vegetarians do not eat meat, which is high in bioavailable zinc and may enhance zinc absorption. In addition, vegetarians typically eat high levels of legumes and whole grains, which contain phytates that bind zinc and inhibit its absorption.

Calcium Citrate  – Calcium citrate is the best absorbed supplemental form of calcium and plays a very important role in the body. We need calcium from birth all the way until we reach old age. In our infant days, it is required for proper bone and tooth growth. During adolescence, as the bones develop, calcium is again essential to support growth. It is necessary for the normal functioning of nerves, cells, muscles, and bone. If there is not enough calcium in the blood, then the body will take calcium from bones, thereby weakening bones. Having the right amount of calcium is important for building and maintaining strong bones. Among all the health benefits of calcium, the most important ones are that it aids in maintaining bone health and dental health, as well as reducing obesity. Calcium also protects heart muscles. Sufficient amounts of calcium can help cardiac muscles to contract and relax properly. It also helps the nervous system maintain the proper pressure in your arteries.

Folate  – Folate helps the body by producing and maintaining new cells. It also protects DNA against changes that may lead to abnormalities. The human body makes lots of new cells every day, and folate is needed to make red blood cells. They help you have the energy to do things like run, swim, bike, and play sports. Folic acid appears to reduce the risk of stroke, which may be due to the role folate plays in regulating homocysteine concentration. Folic supplements are relatively safe to use, which is why stroke or hyperhomocysteinemia patients are encouraged to consume daily B vitamins, including folic acid. Folate is a water-soluble vitamin and is regularly removed from the body through urine. Folate deficiency may lead to glossitis, diarrhea, depression, confusion, anemia, fatigue, gray hair, mouth sores, poor growth, and swollen tongue.

Folate is necessary for fertility in both men and women. It contributes to spermatogenesis. Therefore, it is necessary to receive sufficient amounts through the diet to avoid subfertility.

DHA EPA – Omega-3  – polyunsaturated fatty acids are essential for the growth and development of the human body. DHA plays a key role in the development of eye and nerve tissues. DHA may also reduce the risk of heart and circulatory conditions by decreasing the thickness of the blood and lowering blood levels of triglycerides. It also lowers the risk of depression and can alleviate aggressive behavior for people in stressful situations. EPA may help prevent and treat depression and anxiety. EPA seems to be the most effective at fighting depression.

Getting enough omega-3s during pregnancy and early life is crucial for your child’s development. IT’s linked to higher intelligence and a lower risk of several diseases. Several studies note that children with ADHD have lower blood levels of omega-3 fatty acids than their healthy peers. Notably, omega-3 fatty acids can reduce the production of molecules and substances linked to inflammation, such as inflammatory eicosanoids and cytokines. People with mental disorders often have low blood levels of omega-3 fats. Improving omega-3 status seems to improve symptoms.

  • Triglycerides: Omega-3s can cause a major reduction in triglycerides, usually in the range of 15–30%
  • Blood pressure: Omega-3s can reduce blood pressure levels in people with high blood pressure
  • Omega-3s can raise “good” HDL cholesterol levels
  • Blood clots: Omega-3s can keep blood platelets from clumping together. This helps prevent the formation of harmful blood clots
  • Plaque: By keeping arteries smooth and free from damage, omega-3s help prevent the plaque that can restrict and harden arteries
  • Inflammation: Omega-3s reduce the production of some substances released during your body’s inflammatory response

Lecithin – Refer to the Encyclopedia of URMC: Lecithin is also known as alpha-phosphatidylcholines, belongs to a larger group of compounds called phospholipids. These are important parts of the brain, blood, nerves, and other tissues. Phospholipids are also a part of cell membranes. Lecithin is present in every single cell of our body and helps to protect the integrity of our cell membranes.

Lecithins turn into choline in the body. They help make the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. The body uses lecithin in the metabolic process and to move fats. Therefore, the most commonly cited lecithin is beneficial for Brain Protection; Cholesterol reduction; may help improve heart health and liver integrity, and improve immune function. A Brazilian study Trusted Source on rats found that daily lecithin supplementation increased macrophage activity by 29 percent. Macrophages are white blood cells that engulf debris, microbes, and other foreign materials in the body.
