As of 2013, the Arthritis Community Research and Evaluation Unit (ACREU) reported that 4.6 million Canadians are suffering from some sort of arthritis pain. This means that approximately one in six Canadians age 15 years and older are affected by the debilitating disease. Contrary to popular opinion, arthritis can occur at any age. Athletes are also prone to joint pain and osteoporosis.

You can tackle the pain by trying our Unique Joint Support Formula, another product in our line of Targeted Health Boosters. In addition to commonly used ingredients in the protection of joints such as Glucosamine Sulfate, MSM, Calcium, and Vitamin D3, this formula also includes Vitamin K2, Methionine, and Collagen Type II. This combination of ingredients strengthens its effectiveness by slowing calcium loss caused by osteoporosis, strengthening bone density, teeth, cartilage, and other connective tissues by providing toughness and lubricity.

There is no sugar added which means it is more suitable for people with diabetes.

Place of Production: Canada

Size: 90 vegetable capsules per bottle

Shelf Life: Three Years. The product is safe to use for three years but for the best effect, the product should be consumed as soon as possible after opening. Typically, our customers finish this product in 1-3 months after opening.

Recommended Dose: Take 3 capsules, once per day or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. Additionally, you can spread out the 3 capsule dosage to achieve similar results. If you are taking other medication or antibiotics, wait for 2-3 hours until taking the joint formula capsules. Mixing the two will reduce the efficiency of both products.

Recommended Use: Helps to relieve joint pain associated with osteoarthritis. Helps to protect against the deterioration of cartilage. A factor in maintaining good cartilage and/or joint health.

Main Ingredients and Functions

Glucosamine Sulfate  – This is a chemical compound present in the fluid surrounding joints. Commonly used for joint problem affecting joint pain and difficulty moving. Most research on glucosamine sulfate has measured its contribution on osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, or spine. Glucosamine is a precursor to a type of protein called proteoglycans. This protein is the building block for the cartilage that cushions your joints. The cartilage in the joints requires sulfur for its production. The long-term consumption of glucosamine sulfate can also slow the breakdown of joints in people with osteoarthritis. Some researchers hope that glucosamine sulfate tend to keep osteoarthritis from getting worse as quickly as it otherwise might.

MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane)  – This is a natural and effective anti-inflammatory. It is an organic sulfur-containing compound that is used to support immune function, facilitate normal cellular activity, lower inflammation, and help restore healthy bodily tissue- such as collagen. MSM provides biologically active sulfur, which is the fourth most plentiful mineral in the body and is needed for many different critical bodily functions every single day. MSM is especially popular as part of an arthritis diet and supplementation and is good for arthritis or osteoarthritis/degenerative joint disease since it helps form connective tissue and repair joints, tendons, and ligaments. MSM supplements are beneficial for helping the body form new joint and muscle tissue while helping with inflammatory responses that contribute to swelling and stiffness. Sulfur needs to be present for our cells to release many byproducts and excess fluids that can accumulate and cause swelling and tenderness.

Natural Vitamin D3  – The most natural form easily absorbed by the body is D3 cholecalciferol. It is required for the absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus. Scientists know that people low in vitamin D absorb 65% less calcium than those with adequate levels of this vitamin. Subsequently, osteoporotic fractures are much more common. Vitamin D researchers now suggest that adequate vitamin D supplementation could lower chance of osteoporotic fractures. It is now clear that vitamin D also maintains the function of muscle fibers, thus preserving muscle strength and neuromuscular coordination.

Calcium Citrate  – Calcium citrate is the best absorbed supplemental form of calcium and plays a very important role in the body. We need calcium from birth all the way until we reach old age. It is necessary for the normal functioning of nerves, cells, muscles, and bone. If there is not enough calcium in the blood, then the body will take calcium from bones, thereby weakening bones. Having the right amount of calcium is important for building and keeping strong bones.

Methionine  – This is a proteinogenic amino acid. It is classed as an essential amino acid of humans and cannot be synthesized by the body itself.  Methionine is a sulfur-containing essential amino acid that encourages cartilage cells to create more cartilage tissue and helps strengthen joints by forming sulfurous chains that link together. Joint cartilage can’t form without sulfur. And for arthritis patients, a lack of sulfur can have devastating consequences. Methionine has also been shown in studies to help with symptoms of arthritis. Methionine has anti-inflammatory properties, is a pain-reliever, and stimulates the formation of cartilage tissue.

Refer to ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3501438/, administration of methionine or glucosamine slightly suppressed the increase in arthritis scores between days 12 and 21. Notably, the administration of methionine combined with Glucosamine further suppressed the increase in arthritis score between days 15 and 21. Thus, the combined administration of methionine and Glucosamine are more beneficial for the clinical signs and symptoms of adjuvant arthritis than individual administrations of methionine or Glucosamine.

Vitamin K2  – This is an important fat-soluble vitamin that plays a critical role in protecting heart and brain, and building strong bones. The biological role of vitamin K2 is to help move calcium into the proper areas in your body, such as bones and teeth. It also helps remove calcium from areas where it should not be, such as in arteries and soft tissues. Daily intake of vitamin K2 might be enough to activate the body’s K2-dependent proteins to shuttle calcium to the proper areas. Vitamin K2 is critical for keeping your bones strong and your arteries clear.

Vitamin K2 also works synergistically with calcium and vitamin D, K2 goes straight to blood vessel walls, bones, and tissues.

Collagen Type II (Bioactive Peptide Fragments)  – This collagen is produced by chondrocytes (the non-cellular matrix of cartilage), a liquid-like filling within the cartilage. It is directed to a method and pharmaceutical formulations for the improvement of autoimmune joint problems; improves joint comfort and mobility, morning stiffness, and mobility issues. Collagen type II contributes to cartilage’s qualities making it strong and compressible so that it can absorb shocks. Collagen type II makes up 50-60% of the protein in cartilage and 85-90% of the collagen in articular cartilage.

According to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, collagen helps in healing and repairing damaged bones and cartilages, also maintains the resistance, elasticity, and mobility of joints and connective tissue. Collagen is a family of fibrous proteins that act as the building blocks for skin, bones, teeth, cartilage, tendons, and other connective tissues.

 Benefits of Collagen:

Bone Health  – Bones are made up of a mixture of collagen and a mineral called hydroxyapatite. The two work together to form the structure, flexibility, and strength of your bones. According to research done by the Radiocarbon Laboratory, at the University of Waikato in New Zealand, approximately 30 percent of bones are made up of organic materials, of which collagen makes up to 95 percent.

Muscles Function  – Collagen also provides important functions for your muscles. Collagen fibers provide your muscles with the strength and structure needed to move and function throughout the day. Collagen fibers not only make up your skeletal muscle fibers, but they also make up your smooth muscles (such as those in the bladder and reproductive system) and your cardiac muscles.

Blood Vessels  – Collagen also provides an important function in blood vessels. It makes up the walls of the veins, arteries, and capillaries of the body. This gives the vessels strength, structure, and flexibility, all of which are needed to effectively transport blood throughout the entire body.
